The upcoming phone has been teased ahead of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit, giving the device a timely spot in one of the biggest weeks on the smartphone calendar.

Motorola has confirmed the Sept. 22 date and has connected the new phone with Snapdragon, but several details remain under wraps ahead of the reveal.

Motorola Keeps the Signature 27 Details Under Wraps

Motorola first sparked interest with a teaser showing close-up shots of different materials and the message that a new perspective was coming on Sept. 22.

The company later posted another teaser tying the Signature 27 to Snapdragon.

That confirms the phone will use a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, although Motorola had not named the exact chip in the latest available announcement.

The timing has fueled speculation that the Signature 27 could be one of the first phones connected to Qualcomm’s next flagship Snapdragon platform.

A Premium Design Is Already Showing Through

Motorola’s teasers have provided a few clues about the phone’s design.

Images and video previews show a green handset with a textured rear finish and a large camera setup. The camera area also carries Dolby Vision branding.

The design appears to continue Motorola’s approach of using distinctive materials rather than sticking with a standard glass-backed phone.

The original Motorola Signature used linen-inspired and twill-inspired rear finishes, giving the Signature line a more fashion-forward look.

The Camera Could Be a Major Focus

The camera system is one of the biggest clues Motorola has offered so far.

Recent teasers have highlighted a large rear camera lens, while reports based on the promotional material point to a 200MP camera and 100x zoom capabilities.

Those details should still be treated carefully until Motorola publishes the complete specifications.

The original Signature already featured a three-camera setup with 50MP main, ultrawide and periscope telephoto cameras, along with 100x Super Zoom Pro and Dolby Vision video recording.

The Signature 27 is arriving alongside Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit, which begins Sept. 22.
