The Detroit Red Wings will turn Sunday afternoon into a family-focused hockey event when they host the Winnipeg Jets on October 4 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.
The game, scheduled for 1 p.m., will feature the team’s annual Kids Day along with a limited-edition Sergei Fedorov bobblehead giveaway celebrating the 25th anniversary of Detroit’s 2002 Stanley Cup championship.
Sergei Fedorov Bobblehead Giveaway
The first 7,500 fans through the doors will receive a Sergei Fedorov bobblehead, presented by Little Caesars.
The giveaway is part of a three-piece series honoring members of Detroit’s 2002 Stanley Cup championship team. Future giveaways in the series will feature former Red Wings captain Nicklas Lidstrom and longtime coach Scotty Bowman.
The Fedorov giveaway is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so fans hoping to receive one will need to arrive early. The Red Wings note that promotional giveaways are available in limited quantities and are distributed upon entry.
Kids Day Comes to Little Caesars Arena
October 4 is also Kids Day at Little Caesars Arena, giving younger fans a larger role in the afternoon’s festivities.
Pregame entertainment will include Tiny Turbos in the Chevrolet Plaza beginning at 11:45 a.m. Arena doors are scheduled to open at 11:30 a.m.
The Red Wings are also offering a $50 Kids Eat Free ticket package. The package includes a meal voucher that can be used for a hot dog, chips and a soft drink, a pizza slice and soft drink, or two chicken tenders, fries and a soft drink.
A Special Weekend for Red Wings Fans
The October 4 game comes just two days after Detroit opens its 101st NHL season against the New York Rangers.
The Red Wings are beginning the 2026-27 campaign with four consecutive home games at Little Caesars Arena. The opening stretch also includes Hispanic Heritage Night on October 6 and Pride Night on October 9.
That makes the Winnipeg game one of several special-event dates packed into Detroit’s opening week.
More Than Just a Giveaway
The Fedorov bobblehead also connects the event to one of the most memorable championship eras in Red Wings history.
Detroit’s 2002 team won the Stanley Cup, and the Red Wings are marking the 25th anniversary of that championship with the three-bobblehead series during the 2026-27 season.
Fedorov’s giveaway comes first, followed by Lidstrom on October 29 and Bowman on November 18.
What Fans Should Know
The Red Wings will face the Winnipeg Jets at 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 4, at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.
Fans interested in the Fedorov bobblehead should keep in mind that only the first 7,500 attendees receive the giveaway. Kids Day activities will begin before the game, with arena doors opening at 11:30 a.m.
The combination of a family-focused game day, pregame entertainment and a limited-edition piece of Red Wings history gives Sunday’s matchup a special place in Detroit’s busy opening week.
