ArtNight Pasadena Returns October 9 With Free Art, Live Music and Family Activities

Pasadena, California, is preparing for an evening of art, music and entertainment as ArtNight Pasadena returns Friday, October 9, 2026. The free citywide event will give visitors access to 23 arts and cultural venues from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., offering a chance to explore local creativity without paying admission.

Organized by the City of Pasadena’s Cultural Affairs Division in partnership with local cultural organizations, ArtNight brings together museums, galleries, theaters and community spaces for one night of special programming. This fall’s edition also features seasonal performances, hands-on art activities and live entertainment for visitors of different ages.

Free Admission Opens the Door to Pasadena’s Arts Scene

One of ArtNight’s biggest attractions is the opportunity to experience multiple cultural venues in a single evening without purchasing separate admission tickets.

Participating locations across Pasadena will offer exhibitions, performances, workshops and other activities. Visitors can plan their evening around their interests, whether they prefer visual art, live music, theater or local history.

The event also gives smaller arts organizations and local performers an opportunity to reach new audiences. By bringing different creative communities together, ArtNight turns a typical Friday evening into a citywide cultural experience.

Live Performances Add a Halloween Twist

This year’s fall program includes several performances with a seasonal theme.

Bob Baker’s Marionettes will return with a spooky puppet performance at the City Hall Hub, alongside dance favorites from Theater Americana. Visitors can also enjoy ghost stories presented by Parson’s Nose Theatre and explore haunted storytelling and blackout poetry activities from Red Hen Press.

Music fans can sing along to show tunes at the Pasadena Playhouse Piano Bar, while the Alkebu-lan Cultural Center will present a program featuring jazz, tap and percussion.

The Jackie Robinson Community Center will also host music from Jazz Zone, adding another live performance destination to the evening.

Art Workshops and Historic Exhibits Offer More to Explore

ArtNight is not limited to watching performances. Several participating venues will give visitors opportunities to take part in creative activities.

At the Gamble House, the California Art Club will invite guests to sketch models dressed in period costumes. The artWORKS Teen Center will offer interactive screen-printing workshops, while Remainders Creative Reuse will showcase local artists and creative reuse projects.

The Pasadena Museum of History will feature exhibitions exploring Route 66, Colorado Boulevard and selections from the museum’s collection. Visitors can also explore exhibitions and special programming at ArtCenter College of Design, including displays of student work and demonstrations connected to entertainment design.

These activities provide an opportunity to discover local history and artistic techniques while exploring different parts of the city.

Free Shuttles Help Visitors Travel Between Venues

With participating locations spread across Pasadena, transportation is an important part of planning an ArtNight visit.

Free shuttle service is scheduled to operate during the event, connecting participating venues between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. However, shuttle service is limited, so visitors should check the latest route information before heading out.

Pasadena Transit and Metro are additional options for reaching the event. Visitors can also review venue locations in advance to create a manageable route and spend more time enjoying the exhibits and performances.

Some locations will feature food trucks, giving attendees an opportunity to grab a bite between activities.
