North Miami Beach Celebrates 100 Years With Centennial Festival

North Miami Beach marked its 100th anniversary with a lively Centennial Festival on Saturday, Oct. 3, bringing residents and visitors together for an evening of music, food, entertainment and community celebrations.

The free event took place at North Miami Beach City Hall from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. as the city wrapped up a year of centennial events celebrating its history and communities.

A Century of North Miami Beach Comes Together

The celebration highlighted the people and communities that have helped shape North Miami Beach over the past century.

Live music, cultural performances, games, prizes, food trucks, vendors and family activities filled the event. The festival also featured an interactive photo booth and other activities designed for people of all ages.

Music and Cultural Performances Take Center Stage

Music was a major part of the evening, with performances representing the diverse cultural background of the South Florida community.

The program included a mariachi band and a special Chinese lion dance performance, along with Latin, Caribbean and African musical and cultural performances.

DJ Nasty from 99 JAMZ was also part of the entertainment lineup.

Families Had Plenty to Do

The festival was designed as more than a concert or street party. Families could take part in games, activities and interactive experiences throughout the evening.

The event lineup also included food trucks, local vendors, a vintage car exhibition, interactive art activities, kids attractions and photo opportunities.

With free admission, the city opened the celebration to residents and visitors rather than limiting the centennial milestone to a formal ceremony.

A Celebration Built Around Community

North Miami Beach officials emphasized the city’s diversity throughout the centennial celebration.

The Oct. 3 festival brought that message into one large public gathering, with different communities represented through music, performances and food.

City Manager Darvin Williams described the event as a celebration of the city’s different communities, with performances and activities reflecting the people who call North Miami Beach home.

North Miami Beach Looks Ahead to Its Next Century

The Centennial Festival was the final major public event in a yearlong series celebrating North Miami Beach’s 100th anniversary.

The city held neighborhood events and other centennial programs throughout 2026 before bringing the celebration to City Hall for the October festival.

The milestone gives North Miami Beach an opportunity to look back at a century of growth while highlighting the community it has become today.

A Memorable 100th Anniversary Celebration

For North Miami Beach, the Centennial Festival was more than a birthday party. It was a chance for residents from different backgrounds to gather in one place and celebrate the city they share.

As North Miami Beach begins its second century, the celebration offered a clear look at the city’s identity: diverse, community-focused and ready for the next chapter.
