LAS VEGAS: The Vegas Golden Knights will welcome the San Jose Sharks to T-Mobile Arena on Saturday, September 26, for a 7 p.m. preseason matchup as both teams continue preparing for the 2026-27 NHL season.
The game is the Golden Knights’ second and final home preseason contest. Vegas previously scheduled a September 24 home game against the Utah Mammoth before hosting San Jose two days later.
Vegas Wraps Up Its Home Preseason Schedule
The September 26 matchup comes near the end of a shortened four-game preseason for Vegas.
The Golden Knights opened exhibition play September 19 against the Los Angeles Kings in Ontario, California, before traveling to San Jose on September 22. Vegas then returned home for its two T-Mobile Arena games against Utah and San Jose.
With only four preseason games on the schedule, each exhibition contest provides an opportunity for players competing for roster spots to make an impression before the regular season begins.
Roster Battles Take Center Stage
The Golden Knights entered training camp with 66 players, including 36 forwards, 23 defensemen and seven goaltenders.
The organization has said that several prospects will be competing for permanent NHL roster spots during preseason action. The limited number of exhibition games makes the remaining opportunities especially important for players looking to make their case.
Veterans are also using the preseason to build chemistry, regain game conditioning and prepare for the regular-season schedule.
Sharks Bring Another Test to Las Vegas
San Jose is also using the preseason to evaluate its roster ahead of the regular season.
The Sharks’ 2026 preseason schedule includes four games, with Vegas among their two opponents. San Jose is scheduled to play Vegas twice during the exhibition slate, including the September 26 matchup at T-Mobile Arena.
That makes the Las Vegas meeting a final opportunity for players on both sides to compete against NHL opposition before the regular season arrives.
A Look Toward Season X
The Golden Knights are preparing for their 10th NHL season in 2026-27.
The club has announced a year-long Season X celebration featuring special theme nights, anniversary events and fan experiences throughout the season.
Vegas will begin its regular-season schedule at T-Mobile Arena on September 29 against the Chicago Blackhawks, making the September 26 preseason game one of the final tuneups before opening night.
