The Army match is part of a two-day tournament hosted by UTA at College Park Center on September 4 and 5.
UTA will open the tournament against Kent State on Friday night at 6 p.m. Saturday’s schedule features Army vs. UTA at 11 a.m., followed by Sam Houston vs. Kent State at 2 p.m. UTA will then close the tournament against Sam Houston at 6 p.m.
The tournament provides the Mavericks with three home matches across the weekend and gives local fans an early look at the 2026 team.

Mavericks Enter Home Weekend After Road Tournament
UTA enters its home tournament after opening the 2026 season at the Razorback Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
The Mavericks opened the season with a 3-1 victory over UTSA on August 28 before defeating SIUE on August 29. UTA then closed the tournament against host Arkansas, falling in straight sets.
Following the Arkansas match, UTA was listed at 2-1 entering its home tournament weekend. The Army match therefore represents an early opportunity for the Mavericks to build momentum in front of their home crowd.
A New Chapter for UTA Volleyball
The 2026 season is an important one for UTA volleyball as the Mavericks begin their first season competing in the United Athletic Conference.
Head coach Tania Schatow is entering her second season leading the program. UTA’s 2026 schedule includes 28 regular-season matches, with four nonconference tournaments before conference play begins later in September.
UTA has also named Erica Dellesky and Evyn Snook as team captains for the 2026 season. Both players are expected to take on expanded leadership roles as the Mavericks navigate their new conference schedule.
