Los Angeles is set to host Moonshots LIVE 2026 on Friday, September 25, bringing entrepreneurs, technology builders, filmmakers, investors and creators together for a full day focused on innovation and ambitious ideas.
The event will take place in a restored 1920s movie palace in downtown Los Angeles, followed by evening programming at the Belasco Theater. Organizers say attendance will be limited to 1,500 participants selected through an application process.
Peter Diamandis to Host the One-Day Gathering
Moonshots LIVE is hosted by Peter H. Diamandis, founder of XPRIZE, and the Moonshots Mates. The event is designed around entrepreneurship, emerging technology, artificial intelligence, science, investing and storytelling.
The speaker lineup includes Stability AI founder Emad Mostaque, Anduril founder Palmer Luckey, ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood, Google X Captain of Moonshots Astro Teller, Colossal CEO Ben Lamm and astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson. Other scheduled speakers include Anousheh Ansari, Neal Stephenson, Mark Pincus, Rod Roddenberry, Mira Lane and Logan Kilpatrick.
Two Major Competitions Will Take Center Stage
One of the biggest parts of Moonshots LIVE will be the live finales of two XPRIZE competitions.
The Future Vision XPRIZE is offering more than $3.5 million in prizes for filmmakers developing hopeful science fiction visions of the future. Five finalists will pitch their concepts live before judges including Neil deGrasse Tyson, Neal Stephenson and Mira Lane.
The Build with Gemini XPRIZE will award $2 million to teams that built and launched AI-powered businesses during a 90-day competition. Five finalists will present their businesses during the Los Angeles event.
Together, the two competitions attracted more than 31,000 filmmakers and builders from around the world, according to XPRIZE.
AI, Entrepreneurship and the Future Take the Spotlight
The daytime schedule includes discussions about building new ventures, artificial intelligence, investing and emerging technology.
Attendees will also hear from Moonshots Mates and other technology leaders during interviews and masterclasses. Astro Teller is scheduled to lead a session focused on building a moonshot, while additional sessions will examine AI businesses and what organizers describe as the agentic economy.
The event is also designed as a networking opportunity, with organizers expecting founders, builders, creators and investors to share the same room.
Star Trek Premiere Leads Into Moonshots LIVE
The event will be preceded by a Star Trek 60th Anniversary celebration on Thursday, September 24, at the United Theater on Broadway in downtown Los Angeles.
The evening will feature the world premiere of The Sixty-Year Mission, followed by a fireside conversation involving Peter Diamandis, Rod Roddenberry and members of the Star Trek cast. A reception is scheduled afterward at the Belasco Theater.
Moonshots LIVE Runs From Morning Through Evening
Moonshots LIVE is scheduled to begin with registration and doors opening at 7 a.m. on September 25. The main program begins in the morning and continues through live competition pitches, networking sessions, lunch programming and evening events.
The evening portion will include receptions, music, networking and attendee-led sessions before the event concludes around 10 p.m.

With major technology figures, filmmakers, entrepreneurs and investors scheduled to appear, Moonshots LIVE is positioning its inaugural gathering as a meeting point for people working on ambitious technology and creative projects.
