LEGO Festival Comes to an End at LEGOLAND California After a Summer of Family Fun

CARLSBAD, Calif., Aug. 30, 2026: The LEGO Festival at LEGOLAND California Resort reaches its final day Sunday, wrapping up a summer celebration that brought hands-on building, live entertainment and interactive experiences to families across the theme park.

The limited-time festival has run daily from July 20 through August 30, giving young builders and their families a chance to explore themed play areas while enjoying the park’s regular rides and attractions.

A Festival Built Around Play

LEGO Festival was designed as a family-focused event centered on creativity and hands-on play.

Visitors could explore five themed zones throughout LEGOLAND California, with each area offering a different type of activity. The festival included building challenges, live shows, character encounters and large LEGO models.

The event was included with eligible LEGOLAND California admission tickets and Annual Passes, so guests did not need to purchase a separate festival ticket.

Five Zones Gave Families Different Ways to Play

The festival’s five zones gave families several ways to experience the event.

The Music Zone featured the Battle of the Bands live show, LEGO character appearances and a large festival mosaic that guests could help build.

The Creative Zone focused on hands-on construction, including Creatureverse builds and Master Model Builder sessions.

The Chill Out Zone offered a quieter setting with LEGO Botanicals activities, including a Build & Bloom experience, along with live entertainment.

The festival also introduced new attractions in its Thrill Zone and Play Zone for 2026.

New LEGO F1 Experience Added a Racing Twist

One of the new elements for the 2026 festival was a LEGO F1 themed experience.

The Thrill Zone featured the LEGO F1 Brick Stop Challenge, where visitors could take part in a timed racing activity. Guests could also build and test LEGO F1 cars and take photos around a winner’s podium.

The racing theme added a different kind of activity to a festival otherwise centered largely on building and creative play.

LEGO Pokémon Joined the Festival

The 2026 festival also introduced a LEGO Pokémon Play Zone at LEGOLAND California.

The experience allowed guests to take part in a LEGO Pokémon Trainer Center activity, build a LEGO Poké Ball and participate in hands-on LEGO SMART Play experiences.

A large LEGO Pikachu was also part of the experience, giving families another photo opportunity during their visit. Because of limited capacity, the Pokémon Play Zone used a virtual queue system.

The Three Build Challenge Added Another Goal

Families could also participate in the festival’s Three Build Challenge.

Guests who completed at least three designated LEGO building activities could collect a 3-in-1 LEGO Creator reward while supplies lasted.

The challenge gave visitors another reason to explore different parts of the festival rather than staying in one area.

A Summer Event for Young Builders

LEGOLAND California designed the festival primarily for children ages 2 through 12 and their families.

The event allowed families to combine the festival activities with the theme park’s more than 60 rides, shows and attractions. That combination made it possible for visitors to spend a full day moving between traditional theme park attractions and the temporary festival programming.

Final Day Brings Summer Celebration to a Close

Sunday marks the final scheduled day of LEGO Festival 2026 at LEGOLAND California.

The resort’s current event calendar lists the festival through August 30, with the next major seasonal event on the calendar being Brick or Treat, which begins on select dates in September.

The conclusion of LEGO Festival also marks the end of a summer program that combined LEGO building, music, character experiences and family entertainment in a single theme park experience.

What Comes Next at LEGOLAND California

With LEGO Festival ending, LEGOLAND California is already preparing for its fall programming.

Brick or Treat is scheduled to return on select dates beginning September 19, bringing Halloween themed entertainment, character appearances, costume activities, trick-or-treating and seasonal food to the park.

For families who visited LEGO Festival throughout the summer, the transition means the theme park is moving from its summer celebration into its fall event season.
