Yoga on the Rocks Returns to Red Rocks for August 15 Sunrise Session

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre will trade its usual concert atmosphere for an early morning fitness experience on Saturday, Aug. 15, when Yoga on the Rocks returns for a sunrise session presented by Rooted Heart Yoga & Wellness.

The session is scheduled from 7 to 8 a.m., with doors opening at 6 a.m. The event is part of the 2026 Yoga on the Rocks series, which brings guided yoga sessions to one of Colorado’s most recognizable outdoor venues throughout the summer.

A Different Way to Experience Red Rocks

Red Rocks is best known for its concerts and dramatic natural setting, but Yoga on the Rocks offers a completely different way to experience the venue.

Participants gather in the amphitheatre for a guided workout surrounded by the venue’s towering sandstone formations and Colorado scenery. The event has become a recurring summer tradition and is now in its 14th season.

The 2026 series expanded to 12 sessions because of its popularity, giving attendees more opportunities to take part before the summer schedule wraps up.

Rooted Heart Yoga & Wellness Leads the Aug. 15 Session

Rooted Heart Yoga & Wellness is scheduled to lead the Aug. 15 class, marking one of three dates the studio is hosting at Red Rocks this year.

The studio is also scheduled to lead sessions on July 25 and Aug. 29. For the Aug. 15 session, Holly Hoops is listed as the instructor by Red Rocks and Rooted Heart Yoga & Wellness.

Rooted Heart Yoga & Wellness says attendees can also visit its booth on the plaza before and after class to meet the instructor and pick up event merchandise.

What Attendees Need to Know

The Aug. 15 session begins at 7 a.m., while doors open at 6 a.m. Red Rocks recommends that participants bring their own yoga mat and water.

Tickets are sold online, and there are no drop-in ticket sales at the venue. A single session is listed at $23, while a six-session package costs $138.

The event also includes access to the Top Plaza, where participating sponsors offer giveaways, merchandise, games and other activities following the class.

The Red Rocks Morning Routine

Yoga on the Rocks has developed a following among locals and visitors looking for an outdoor fitness experience that is difficult to replicate elsewhere.

Recent local discussion around the series has highlighted the size of the gatherings and the experience of practicing yoga at the venue during the early morning hours. Some attendees described the setting as memorable and especially appealing for those looking for something beyond a typical workout class.

The setting is also part of the appeal. Rather than taking place inside a conventional gym or yoga studio, the class unfolds in the same amphitheatre that regularly hosts major touring musicians.

A Summer Tradition With One More Date Ahead

The Aug. 15 session is not the final Yoga on the Rocks event of the year. Rooted Heart Yoga & Wellness will return to Red Rocks for another session on Aug. 29, which is currently listed as the final date in the 2026 series.

For Aug. 15, the combination of an early start, a large outdoor setting and a class led by Rooted Heart Yoga & Wellness gives Red Rocks a distinctly different feel from its usual summer concert schedule.

For participants willing to get up early, Saturday morning offers a chance to experience one of Colorado’s most famous venues before the day’s entertainment begins.
