Britney Spears is ready to be her own cheerleader. After sharing a video of herself singing in front of a mirror, she teased that she’s working on new music.
The pop star showed off her vocals and teased a new song in an Instagram post where she — once again — took her family to task.
“Just realized this today guys … after what my family tried to do to me three years ago … I needed to be my own cheerleader !!!! God knows they weren’t …so I just read up on my self and this is what I found,” she captioned a clip of herself singing in her bathroom while wearing low-rise jeans and a purple crop top.
Spears, 40, made it clear to fans that she’s “not auditioning for anything,” but wanted to “remind my white ‘classy’ family that I haven’t forgotten what they did to me nor will I ever forget !!!!”
The crooner also revealed that she has a “new song in the works,” but did not provide any further details.
Spears last released music in 2016 when she dropped the “Glory” album.
A source told that Spears is “excited” to start making music again, but diving back into the industry following a nearly three-year “work hiatus” is not her “top priority.”

Spears also went on to detail a few of her many career accolades in Wednesday’s social media post, including being “one of the most successful and celebrated entertainers in pop history with nearly 100 million records sold worldwide.”
The “Toxic” singer was freed from a conservatorship, which she was placed under in 2008, in September. Earlier this month, her estranged father, Jamie Spears — who once controlled most aspects of her life under the restrictive legal ruling — filed court documents to have the musician’s estate continue paying his legal fees.
