Meet the high school senior whose academic journey is inspiring the nation
May 26, 2025 | Atlanta, GA — In an achievement that’s as rare as it is remarkable, Jasmine Carter, a senior at Booker T. Washington High School in Atlanta, has been accepted into all eight Ivy League universities — a feat that fewer than 100 students manage each year.
The 18-year-old scholar, who maintains a 4.0 GPA, is not just academically gifted but also deeply involved in her community. Jasmine is student body president, captain of the debate team, and volunteers weekly at a local food bank.
The Moment of Truth
“I just started crying,” Jasmine said, recalling the moment she opened her final acceptance letter. “It didn’t feel real. Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Dartmouth, Cornell, Brown, UPenn — I still can’t believe it.”
Support at Home and School
Raised by a single mother who works as a nurse, Jasmine credits her success to late nights, strong mentors, and “a lot of prayer.” Her school principal, Dr. Sheila Roberts, said, “She’s the kind of student every educator dreams of.”
