A man who was killed in a car crash located in Aberdeenshire has been identified.

Alistair Arthur, 74, was driving the Blue VolkswagenT-Roc along the A90 Peterhead to Aberdeen road when it collided with a white and blue Daf HGV.

The accident occurred at around 5.20pm on the 25th of January at the intersection between Logie Road, Tipperty,

Emergency services arrived, but Mr. Arthur was declared dead on the spot.

Two women aged between 81 and87 were admitted for treatment at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries. They were later released.

Mr Arthur’s family has asked that their privacy be respected.

Sergeant Chris Smith of the North East Road Policing Unit said “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr. Arthur.

“Our inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the collision and I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or saw either vehicle prior to the collision, that has not already spoken to officers to come forward.”
