Step 1: First, open up the MAP screen by pressing and holding on to your screen.
Step 2: Once on the MAP screen, slide your finger across the bottom and select “Mini Map.”
Step 3: Drag the red marker over to wherever you want your map to show and release. You can now move around while your map is displayed!
What to do with all those walking steps
If you’re anything like most Pokemon Go players, you’ve probably started to notice that you’re walking around a lot more than usual. That’s because walking is one of the best ways to get around the game’s world–and it’s not just for traversing long distances. If you know how to walk in Pokemon Go, you can use your steps to traverse short distances quickly and easily.
Of course, there are a few things to keep in mind when using this tactic. First and foremost, make sure that you always stay aware of your surroundings. You never know when you’ll run into a wild Pokemon or another player, so be prepared to move quickly if necessary. Secondly, use your steps sparingly. Too many walks will tire out your foot faster than necessary and could lead to injury. Last but not least, remember that you don’t have to walk everywhere–you can also ride the bus or take a bike ride from time to time. When you’re out and about in Pokémon GO, it can be really fun to explore your surroundings and take in all the wonderful sights and sounds. But, walking can be tedious, especially if you’re trying to capture all of the various Pokémon that are out there.
Fortunately, there are a few tricks you can use to make your walks a bit more pleasant. Here are some tips on how to make the most of your Pokémon GO walks:
1. Set a Goal
Before you start walking, decide what goal you want to achieve. Maybe you just want to explore your neighbourhood a bit, but maybe you’re looking for specific Pokémon. Having a specific goal will help you stay motivated throughout your walk.
2. Take Advantage of PokéStops and Gyms
Whenever you come across a PokéStop or a Gym, stop and take advantage of the bonuses that they offer. This includes items like Poké Balls and Incense, which can help you catch more Pokémon easily.
3. Use Your Sight and Sound Sensors
When you’re walking around, be sure to use both your sight and sound sensors. This will help you anticipate where hidden Pokémon might be hiding, like those inside tall grass. Use your earbuds to listen for their cries and monitor the temperatures around you to understand weather’s influence on Pokémon. You can also contribute to keeping your surroundings clear through interactions with PokéStops, like spinning them for item rewards.4. Seek Out Legendary PokémonWhen you arrive at a new location, use your map skills by looking for familiar landmarks! This will make it easier to recognize things you already know about, like where the closest power outage is or what hospital is most likely a great place for visiting sick patients. Take note of important landmarks that can be super helpful in determining location of hidden monsters like Lures, which are special decorations placed by other players in various locations.5. Remember Where Safe
